ALPSKI KVINTET – 60 YEARS OF A MUSICAL JOURNEY

Alpski Kvintet is one of Slovenia’s most successful and best-known ensembles, having made a lasting mark on the country’s music scene over six decades. With their distinctive blend of traditional quintet music, swing and jazz, they developed a unique musical style and won the hearts of audiences both at home and abroad.

Their musical journey began on September 24, 1966, in Kranj. Performances in Austria, Germany and Switzerland soon followed, where they gained a loyal audience. Between 1967 and 1975, they performed extensively across these countries, and their music became increasingly well known beyond Slovenia’s borders.

Throughout their remarkable career, Alpski Kvintet recorded more than 100 albums and received numerous awards, including five Gold Records in Austria, two Gold Records in Slovenia and a Diamond Record in Austria. In 2013, the Austrian record label VM MCP honored them with a special award for the remarkable achievement of one million albums sold.

Although they concluded their professional career in 1996, they continued making music, preserving a tradition that has connected generations for decades.

The year 2026 is a particularly special one for Alpski Kvintet – they are celebrating 60 years of uninterrupted musical activity! It is an extraordinary milestone and a story truly worthy of a grand celebration.

To mark this remarkable anniversary, Veseljaki will pay tribute to Alpski Kvintet with a GRAND ANNIVERSARY CONCERT.
